Tuesday night at 8:30 Vic is talking about the book. Not sure if there are still tickets available. Might be worth checking the book festival website. Tickets are a tenner.

Finally got my copy after ordering it months ago on a certain river based site.

See you there... and on Sunday as soon as Neil Gaiman's talk is done :D  I started the book this weekend and I'm really enjoying it so far, well done Vic!

Top night with Vic last night. Some very funny anecdotes. An hour was nowhere near long enough. I got the feeling he could've talked all night. He took time to chat to people at the book signing as well. He told me that KC and JY will be appearing with him at the Jura Unbound event on Sunday night.

We're coming down on Sunday too, we should wear name badges or carnations in our buttonhole (no euphemism).

I will be the half-cut bird trying to sneak in late after Neil Gaiman's talk  :o

Baldpar, how did I miss you again??  ::)  I got talking to Rosti (who got a hug from Vic during the talk cos he owned a Deaf Mutes album  ;D ).  I was too shy to start shouting your boardname in the room and hoped you'd notice the loud midget, sorry  :-[

I was keeping an eye out for you. Obviously missed you  :(
Will try again on Sunday. I'll be the bald man with glasses, probably wearing a denim jacket.

What's the craic with the Jura Unbound thing?  Is it really JY and KC and whisky on a bank holiday Sunday for free???  That seems a bit easy and too good to be true, Shirley?

Vic confirmed JY and KC would be there when he signed my copy of his book. Sounds like a great night doesn't it ?

Are the late trains still running to Glasgow? If not I may have to insist that Mrs. Czefski drives.

I'd double check but Scotrail sez:

"Seven nights a week from Friday 2nd until Sunday 25th August
The following additional services will operate:
0001 Edinburgh to Glasgow Queen St calling at Linlithgow 0018, Polmont 0025, Falkirk High 0029, Croy 0039, Lenzie 0045, Bishopbriggs 0050 and Glasgow Queen St 0058
0030 Edinburgh to Glasgow Queen St calling at Linlithgow 0047, Polmont 0054, Falkirk High 0058, Croy 0108, Lenzie 0114, Bishopbriggs 0119 and Glasgow Queen St 0128"

And Vic said this would end around 11pm.  Allegedly.  ;)

We'll be running over after the Gaiman signing finishes. Save me a whisky kthxbai  8)

Cheers Paula, I don't think we'll have time to get through to Glasgow to drop the car off and get back to Edinburgh for 9, so one of us will have drive. I'll have to read my Henry Kissinger guide to negotiation skills book tonight.

Yup, I'll be there. Looks like there's a ticketed event before it (something about horsemeat :o) that finishes at 8.15 so you're probably spot on with your timings!

Good thing I got there early.  8) There was a queue of people they couldn't let in.

Last night was great fun, all on good form and enjoying themselves. Not too much chat about the past week helped too. Kenny's set was excellent and surprisingly included a Withered Hand song that I haven't yet hear Dan play. I would have preferred if JY had done 1 Huckleberry song then left it at that but that's a minor grumble. Really looking forward to Saturday now.

Great night, really funny - a lot funnier than the comedian we paid for earlier on in the day.  JY on brilliant form, KC playing HMS Ginafore songs, free whisky - that's a good night in anyone's book.  Can't believe the granny joke got told though!
