I feel used and yet strangely aroused by the deceit.

It's invite only. Until they panic and need to sell more tickets. They don't advertise who's playing as a result and there's always that danger that Jim Kerr might be there.

I just want another dance with your drummer in the crypt.

That may, or may not, be a euphemism.

Experimenting with single-malt vodka. Dancing to Northern Soul classics. Realising that everyone else has gone home, there's no taxis and you're in the middle of a country estate 10 miles from your B&B.

Nick Nairn took the pressure off everyone by being huckled.

Great news on Irish dates. Got Dublin tickets already and will try for one of the others. Is it KC solo or band?

February 27th Uppsala, Sweden

"completely stuck in a lo-fi swamp or mark-saturated music smeared with småvulgär rock"

Not what the Swedish druids would have wanted  :)

on the whole, the reviews seem ok.  The first one you've quoted says its melodic low-key rather than stuck in a low-fi swamp etc. so that seems positive.  But you definitely have to stop smearing everything with smavulgar rock. That stuff is lethal.

The other two are complaining more about the people coming in and out of the bar, and the hardness of the surfaces for accoustics but are complimentary about the music.

"And just this kind of music should be played in them every weekend, for would probably also the Swedish people become a little nicer if they were listening to Scottish folk pop every now and then."

" King Creosote is a fine small band, and Anderson is an unusually lovable man with guitar."

"I find it hard to understand what the amazing fine "Bats in the attic" is really about, but I'm concerned anyway."

There you go.

I work with Swedish people and often think that repeatedly playing them At The WAL would improve their emotional and spiritual well-bring no end.

I am not a member of ABBA.

Tremendous news that you are on your way back to Dublin.

If you have enough hands, would be great if you manage a few "3 on this island" lps along with you.... That will enable me to get round the awkward sterling cheque to the PO box dilemma...

Looking forward to it...

I booked my tickets to see KC at the Kelvingrove bandstand (6th August) on Friday. It's listed as being a performance of From Scotland With Love - does anybody know if this will be accompanied by a screening of the film (or vice versa?) or not?

I also quite fancy the Roddy Frame gig the following night, but not sure I can justify two nights on the trot. Has anyone seen him recently, and is it worth it?

I saw Roddy at the Music Hall in Aberdeen a couple of months ago, outstanding. I have tickets for both nights, what are the chances of the sun shining 2 nights in a row in Glasgow?

That's great news, thanks. I saw the performance in Glasgow Green during the Commonwealth Games and it was quite emotional. Looking forward to getting to experience that again, but with a seat, and my girlfriend, and the sun (hopefully).

"June 11th - upper Dreel Hall, Leaf Rapids and KC
www.youtube.com/watch?t=108&v=rc-q-IxrHN0"

What is that weird instrument she is playing at the end of the song?  Virtual reality pedal steel guitary.  Or was there a session musician slightly out of shot and she was having a laugh?
