Jim Coulter's "Haar" album launch

Dreel Halls, Anstruther
Sat 16th April
7pm

'Haar' is a 44-minute piece of music produced by Jim Coulter. A recording inspired by the fishing vernacular of the East Neuk of Fife and mornings spent wandering along the Scottish coastline.

Jim Coulter produces a distinct form of analogue bucolic techno that attempts to reflect the landscape in which itís maker spent his formative years. In his debut, Haar samples from the rhythmic quality of storm battered skellies and draws warmth from tape-saturated synth recordings. The densely layered material has been painstakingly gathered and crafted into a unique place-specific recording.

On this special occasion to celebrate the launch of his debut release, Jim Coulter will perform live on a specially-commissioned Meyer sound system with support DJs and film screenings throughout the evening. Alongside the vinyl album, an associated publication has been produced, both of which will be available on the night.

Licensed bar.
