Your 3 KC desert island discs?
« on: Sat, Apr 06, 2019, 09:00 AM »
So Brexit comes along and leaves you stranded on Crail beach with a palm tree, a boom box and no Man Friday.

Which three KC albums have you rescued to keep you company?

Smavulgar (what does that word actually mean??)

Småvulgär is a Swedish compound of små=small and vulgär=vulgar, meaning 'a little vulgar'. I've always wondered where KC picked it up

3 on this island? Then Diamond Mine, Bombshell and They flock like Vulcans. Oh that's four!

We played in Uppsala in Sweden - they hired the wrong version of KC! It came from a journalist's review.
Couple years later three of us in Stockholm, same journalist is interviewing KC when the penny drops :-)
Priceless

This would change on a weekly basis!

Now it would  be  FSWL (Double album version);
                             Lino
                             Stinks

(Would I have been allowed to choose  Squeezebox - or is that definitely five discrete albums??)

Stranded on Crail beach. Well it would depend on a few things. Which of the two Scottish seasons is it? Winter or June? And that palm tree. Is it barren or bearing coconuts or dates? Cause these things would affect my state of mind.

But all things considered, I'd opt for

12 O'clock On The Dot
Flick The V's
Sure & Steadfast

I know all three are compilations of sorts but I’d likely go with:

Sea Glass
Diamond Mine
KC Rules OK

There’s a number of new material albums that hold a strong place in my heart but the vibe of all three above is quite special.

I've been thinking about this one ever since the post came up, I've been through all kinds of possible combinations but, alas the simple truth is that I just can't do it. I can't choose just three KC albums, as whichever three they were, they'd only be a reminder of what I was missing by not having the others with me. So I'd have to walk around just humming snippets of KC tracks and have no albums at all.
