One half of BuoyGull has just recorded 10 new tracks to be released August 2020 as a set of 12” singles, each with a limited art print. We think. The collection is called “Hearth” and in the foreground, middle distance and far off you’ll hear some excellent yet understated playing of piano, accordion and pipes. In the background, middle distance and right up close you’ll hear an intriguing mix of synths, beats, ambience and off mic crackles, never getting in the way of some swoonsome singing though, and still allowing for a lot of air. Only 2 of the 10 seem to have a firm foothold in earlier recordings, the other 8 have leapt forward, up, out and if possible, further north and west.
It is so uplifting a listen that the other half of BuoyGull has played the entire set more than half a dozen times this past 30 odd hours, growing ‘green’er with envy over each play.
Do keep your ears tuned for the odd radio play, keep your eyes peeled for write ups and “on sale now” notifications.
