A month of firsts
« on: Sat, Oct 12, 2013, 00:34 AM »
I just tried surfing today for the first time.  Turns out it is NOT AS EASY AS IT LOOKS.

I'm going to hurt tomorrow.

Anyone else done something for the first time this month?

I went surfing for the first time in two years about a month ago at Thurso. I nearly drowned. The roaring forties have taken me by surprise.

Nearly drowning seems remarkably easy - waves are big when you get up close.

I'm also making my first ever pot of soup just now.  Should probably have got round to this before, but I've always been content just eating other people's.  Courgette and potato and it's looking good.

i started mushroom picking this year (well, officially last year...but today was sort of by myself), and just had a wild mushroom lunch, and now feel less certain about what i just ate...so if there aren't anymore posts from me in the near future...

this made me jealous. i haven't been surfing in about two years as well. and sort of fearing what it will be like next time.

i wrote the story below and football violence
unit officers came to the house for info on where,
how and why i got the story. waste of time really,
but if the prick doesn't plead guilty then i will
have to travel to give evidence in court. crazy
times, eh?
