Er...

It's been a bit of an up and down year.

A rollercoaster year, if you will.

Not bought much new music, only the Wolf People album and the Mick Head EP.

Even if I'd bought loads of stuff, I'd still struggle to find anything to beat the Mick Head EP. Beautiful. Amazing comeback.

Finally got Dylan. That would be my 2013, right there.

Favourite day would be 09/10/13.

In no particular order I've enjoyed albums by Public Service Broadcasting, Jon Hopkins, Kid Canaveral, King Creosote, Laura Marling, Camera Obscura, Daft Punk and The Pictish Trail.
Fave book has to be Songs in the key of Fife. Not seen too many films this year but did enjoy Good Vibrations. Gig of the year was probably KC at the Queen's Hall.
Highlight of the year was finally getting a Squeezebox from Kenny  ;D ;D ;D

A lot of great albums this year, Sure & Steadfast, BSP, Conquering Animal Sound, Eagleowl, Edwyn Collins, Hopkins, KT Tunstall, Ziggy Campbell, Pictish Trail, Rick Redbeard, Steve Mason, but the winner is:

Experimental Batch 26

Song of the year: Impossible to Resist - KC

Gig of the year - Saturday night in Aberfeldy.

Event of the year: World Tour of Crail

Book: Unknown Pleasures - Peter Hook

I think I've only been to the cinema twice this year and one of them was Sunshine on Leith so that doesn't count and I can't remember what the other one was.

Gig of the year is split between Sigur Ros and the Usher Hall and Mogwai at the DP Memorial.

If you weren't there then you don't know what you missed.

Pip Dylan a the Gnomegame wins the Fife related category.

I saw Peter Hook being interviewed by Ian Rankin at the Edinburgh Book festival this year. Got my copies of Unknown Pleasures and How not to run a club signed by Hooky. The interview was a good laugh.

not been to too many gigs this year but best
of all was kc at brighton, steve mason at king
tut's and the fife launch of vic's book at cambo
 - man, what a night that was.

best albums this year were experimental batch
26, matthew e white and jonathan wilson. not
much of a reader but i really enjoyed the fabulous
baker boys, songs in the key of fife, scoop and
flat earth news.

looking forward to next year - withered hand
album, three kc albums, world tour of crail, yellae
deuks, world tour of mull, the return of old jock
radio, enticing more of you into the world of
blind boy grunt. oh, and the scottish cup.  ;)

love, peace and good health to you all for
twentyfourteen. i love you all.

oh... difficult one.
there have been quite a few fantastic gigs this year but i enjoyed the little intimate ones more than ever. the most recent highlight must have been the safari lounge one with stephen on decks, kc, withered hand and found on the 13th. top song choices all around. that was a great night!
vic's book launch at the book festival was a very entertaining night as well (still gutted i missed the fife event). and aberfeldy was fantastic, too.

the memorial in august was very special.

but music aside, my highlight must have been poisoning myself with mushrooms...well, maybe not highlight but definitely the most memorable. that was quite something.

and 2014 looks already set for quite a few highlights. still unsure i can make february or april but i am saving myself up for a wee trip to mull. that just sounds too good to miss.

i rediscovered 'down where the drunkards roll' last night. i forgot how much i liked it.
