No3 is hard to top as it's effectively a "greatest hits" set.

I do love Fence Reunited nearly as much, though, and I've a special place in my heart for both Big Avalanche, Small Fence (as that's pretty much where it all started for me) and the Benbecula sampler (Owlets!!!).

For a time there was nothing more joyous than stumbling over a sampler you didn't have at a Homegame merch stall (or persuading Fudgey to keep one back for you in exchange for a never-ending flow of boozes... :'()

The two iím missing are monorail and norman. Rough trade was a pretty remarkable one too.

the fence pittenweem sampler is
more of a best of, but i would beg,
steal or borrow the monorail disc.
like abc it has an other worldly,
ethereal quality to it and worth
the admission alone for clock radio.
and the hillfolk tracks are wonderful.

Norman sampler has a wee special glow for me but johns abc is just amazing. I have no clue who does what on that record and that's the way I like it. Was there not talk about this being a vinyl release once upon a time?
