I'm reading Chapter and Verse, the Bernard Sumner autobiography. Shaping up to be as good as I hoped.

Wolf in White Van by John Darnielle - quite dark and inspired, in part, by the two kids that attempted suicide after listening to Judas Priest.

Also just received, in the mail today, 'Don't Make A Scene', curated by Rob St john and Bartholomew Owl. A really nicely put together volume subtitled 'A field guide to putting on DIY gigs'. Has contributions by Dan Wilson and Matthew Young and a bunch of others (some ex-of this parish I believe) I've heard of but am not familiar with their music. I've browsed through it and it's really well put together, looking forward to reading more of it.

Did you read No Blacks, No Dogs, No Irish, his first auto-biog? If so is there much difference? I'm loathe to spread my disposable income on this otherwise. I can't believe it's not similar.

This one reads as if Mr Lydon is talking at you. Far less ghost-written than 'No Irish..', and far more of his own mangled version of language.

Still not a patch on 'Head-On' by Copey, though...  ;)

Just started "The Book of Strange New Things" by Michel Faber.  Only on page 6, so opinion-free at the moment.
