As it was recommended by Billy Connolly on his recent TV show 'Made in Scotland' I bought a copy of 'The Confederacy of Dunces' by John Kennedy Toole and so far its a cracking read.

Life Is Elsewhere. Milan Kundera.
Haven't read anything by him for a while, and strangely that Eastern Europe, vaguely highbrow, vaguely bohemian-pervy is just the ticket for a miserable january weekend. Goes well with the soup and long nights.

Rereading Margiad Evans's moving, poetic account of the onset of her epilepsy when she was around 40: "A Ray of Darkness" (1952). Highly resonant for anyone who suffers or has suffered from this condition.
She was an excellent novelist and poet too.

What is the Sarah Knight one like? Been contemplating it.

I really liked it, it was funny but also gave a few ideas on how to stop doing things you don't want to do.

Have just finished To Throw Away Unopened by Viv Albertine and Erebus by Michael Palin. Also, have finaly made a start on Hooky's books; tore through the Joy Division one in a couple of days, and have now started on the New Order one; all good so far!
Also just re-read The Masked Fisherman, a book of George Mackay Brown short stories.
And two books about the 1968 golden globe nonstop single hand round the world race.
 And Under Miilk Wood (again!).
And really looking forward to Tracey Thorn's new book, which is apparently coming soon.
I like a good book. Or five.

I'm reading Harlem 69: The future of soul. Book three in Stuart Cosgrove's 67 68 69 trilogy. Another interesting read.
